Chapter 3. Transform

Getting on board with unique experiences

The transformation of Hall L in Terminal 2E at Paris-Charles de Gaulle is the first phase of a major programme to upgrade all boarding areas to create a collection of unique boarding lounges that provide passengers in more spacious, more comfortable and more engagingly surprising spaces. The result is beautiful and dramatic, thanks to the contributions made by artists and designers, which include the iconic XXL cat sculpture from the Malherbe agency.

A new roadmap for Paris-Charles de Gaulle

The French government has informed the Group that it had abandoned the initial project for the future Terminal 4 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (which was not designed to enlarge the airport’s footprint and had been the subject of a major public consultation process in 2019), and has asked it to prepare a new airport development roadmap for the next 10 to 20 years. The studies and work carried out as part of the original Terminal 4 project will inform future thinking on how best to take the project forward and take on board the extremely high environmental expectations of passengers and the public from the earliest stages of development.

A 4G/5G Pro network from Hub One

Hub One has received the green light from Arcep (the French telecommunications regulator) to operate a business 4G/5G spectrum band for a period of 10 years. The Groupe ADP telecoms subsidiary will now begin work on rolling out an ultrafast business mobile network in 2021 to serve an ecosystem of more than 1,000 companies of all sizes and sectors across the three Paris airports.

€486 million
THAT’S THE AMOUNT OF CAPITAL EXPENDITURE SAVINGS MADE BY THE PARIS AIRPORTS IN 2020 FROM THE INITIAL BUDGET (€1.17 BILLION) FOLLOWING THE TERMINATION OF THE ECONOMIC REGULATION CONTRACT.

A regional model for the future in Guinea

The foundation stone for the new terminal at Gbessia International Airport in Conakry was laid in October 2020. This airport will be managed by Groupe ADP under the terms of a 25-year concession agreement, and is designed to become a flagship regional hub for West Africa, which will lead by example, especially in terms of environmental issues, thanks to bioclimatic architectural design, the construction of a more efficient auxiliary power generating plant, a new wastewater treatment plant and an incineration unit whose smoke filtration system complies fully with French and Guinean standards.
